In my final year of my undergraduate studies, my colleague and I decided that we would pursue our master’s degree upon completion. It took months of research, hundreds of calls and two trips to the UK to select a major, university, and place to stay. Then came the visa process, which required mounds of paperwork and an interview that we needed to prepare for. Once we moved, we struggled with the transportation system, and ended up spending several hundred pounds in the process. Finding a GP, the necessary facilities and services and affordable ways to keep ourselves entertained were the next challenge. While our experience was an enjoyable and memorable one, we realized that there should be a service for students to use to ease both the application process as well as the logistics of the move…and so the idea for Mahi was born!
